Engineering Society Adds Endorsement to the Roster
I have been asked to post an endorsement on behalf of the Engineering Society on Sexton. I would like to precurser this with a note that this is not my personal endorsement as I felt as the Sexton Campus Director it would be inappropriate for me to endorse one presidential candidate over another. In 13 years since TUNS amalgamated with Dalhousie we have not to my knowledge had a presidential candidate from Sexton(or Daltech). This year we have 2 and that is a testament to the ability of students to bridge the gap that was originally there.
Without further adieu….
Dear Voters,
The Dalhousie Sexton Engineering Undergraduate Society would like to support and endorse the following Candidates:
Chris Saulnier for President – Chris is an engineering Student who has been long involved with the Engineering community serving as DSEUS Chair for the past 3 years.
Rob Leforte for Vice-President Education - Rob has been a great support to Sexton campus in his current term of VP Education and the DSEUS would like to acknowledge his contributions and commitment to Sexton campus.
Ben Wedge for Senete – Ben is an Engineering student who is highly involved in DUES and a Sextant Editor.
The DSEUS would like to congratulate all candidates on a great campaign and wish you the best in the year to come.
Sincerely,
Krista Ash
VP External – Dalhousie Sexton Engineering Undergraduate Society
Interesting. Saulnier and Wedge are no-brainers. I’m impressed that Leforte pulled it off, too; I’m not sure what he’s been doing specifically with Sexton or Engineers, but it’s clearly working.
I’m a bit surprised that a VP (Internal) candidate wasn’t chosen; that’s got to be the most important portfolio for issues on Sexton (with the possible exception of the President). Then again, this year’s contest is so messy, I suppose I’m not really all that surprised.
Any other endorsements?
Rob LeForte worked with us to help return our exams to our own gym when we were scheduled to write on Studley campus. This would not just have been a mess for engineers but would likely have decreased study space on Studley during exams with more engineers trying to do their studying closer to exam locations just to get those last minute cram sessions in.
LeForte was also very visible on Sexton campus this term, consistently holding office hours… or updating his facebook status if they were going to be altered. haha.
Speaking solely for myself and not DSEUS, I’ve been too annoyed with the VPI Race to make a decision myself. Whitfield made significant appearances on Sexton throughout the campaign. Kurin hit up Engibeering on Friday to do some campaigning. I’d seen Blake around the T-Room and said Hi, but hadn’t had any campaign-chat with him. And who is Tim Hiltz?
I too recommend Ben Wedge visit Senete.
@Unwon Voter Love this.
Ah yes… the engineers’ inability to spell. I am sad to admit that I missed that the first time through… and the second… and only when Sarah commented did I pick up on it…
